Project Manager

Description of Requirements

The client requires an intermediate level proven project manager to assume the leadership of a portfolio of projects for a one year term. The project manager is expected to use their experience and expertise to successfully deliver projects while ensuring that Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices are being applied and followed. The project manager will functionally report to the PDO and will ensure that project processes, procedures and policies meet PDO standards and expectations.

Knowledge of Agile Project Management methodologies is preferred.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

• Communication and facilitation as to the progress, milestones, and significant events through the course of the project to all key stakeholders and steering committee members
• Preparation, monitoring, and ongoing adjustment of the project plan in conjunction with management staff
• Management of the approved budget
• Identification of project deliverables and milestones
• Coordination of regular status meetings with project team leads and following up on outstanding items and deviations from the plan within the governance structure of the project
• Management of project risks and issues
• Providing assistance and mentorship as required
• Knowledge sharing to ensure progressive realization of improvements within the project management practice

 

The key knowledge areas and skill set required are as outlined in Appendix “A” Supplementary Specifications will be provided to interested candidates. North American job experience is considered an asset for this proposal.

The resource is required as soon as possible and will be required to work on site at the Head Office in Regina.

This position is for a two year term, with the possibility of renewal.

Proponents are encouraged to provide specific and qualitative verbiage of other areas where their expertise can add value to our teams, and make our projects as successful as possible, including specific Project Management methodologies that the candidate is adept in using.

A Services Agreement will be negotiated with the successful candidate providing the terms are satisfactory to the client.
